Socialist Politics
Western Australia
Working-Class Power
We are building a movement. Working people in Perth — and everywhere — deserve better than a system organised around private profit and structured inequality. Socialism is not a dream. It is a project, and we are working on it.
Real democracy — not just the vote, but genuine control over the workplaces, services, and institutions that shape everyday life. Power must flow from below.
Structural equality, not charity. A society where wealth is democratically owned and distributed, where no one profits from the poverty or misfortune of others.
An injury to one is an injury to all — across industries, communities, and borders. Division keeps working people weak. Solidarity makes us strong.
Every gain working people have won — the weekend, the minimum wage, public healthcare — came through organised collective action. That tradition continues here.
Perth Socialists is a working-class political organisation committed to socialist politics in Western Australia. We organise because we believe that ordinary people, organised together, have the power to transform the world they live in.
WA has one of the most resource-dependent economies in the country — and one of the sharpest contradictions between immense wealth extraction and the lived conditions of working people. We think that contradiction can and should be resolved in favour of the people who do the work.
Because the problems people face in Perth — housing costs, insecure work, an inadequate public health system, a warming climate — are systemic, not individual. They are the outcomes of a political economy designed to generate private profit, not public good.
Socialism means democratic ownership of the things everyone depends on. It means workers having real power in their workplaces. It means redistributing wealth on a scale that actually changes people's lives. It means building collective institutions that answer to their members and communities rather than to shareholders.
That is what we are working toward — here, in Perth, in Western Australia, and alongside socialists everywhere.
The working class has nothing to lose but its chains — and a world to win.
